Palm Desert Library is one of 50 public libraries in the United States (and one of three in California) selected by the Public Broadcasting System and the American Library Association to show the new in-depth 18-hour series on the Vietnam War. To launch the weekly (Tuesday evenings, 6 p.m.) showings, which begin Sept. 26, the library will have a veterans program in the Community Room on Saturday, September 23 at 2 p.m. Outstanding speakers will make presentations, and the public (especially veterans) is invited to attend. Keynote speaker will be John Dagnell, Veteran Services Representative for Riverside County.
