The Riverside County Library System is pleased to announce that we are reopening most of our libraries for limited library service beginning October 5. What are the hours my local library will be open?
Most libraries will go back to their normal hours of operation but it will vary per location. Libraries providing only Express Service will have limited hours. Please contact your local library for current Express Service hours.
Are all locations reopening for Limited Service?
Not at this time. The following libraries will NOT be reopening:
Can I still use Express Service?
We will continue offering Express Service for a limited time at most locations. Contact your local library to verify service and schedule pick up times.
What about the bookmobiles?
The Bookmobiles will resume service beginning Monday, November 9. Please see the West County Bookmobile and Coachella Valley Bookmobile for more information.

Will I have to wait in line to get in?
While we do not anticipate needing to do so, we will have limited capacity for all libraries in order to allow for proper physical distancing for the safety of you and library staff, so it is possible staff will require you to wait until there is adequate space inside.
Can I make a reservation to come at a specific time?
Because we do not anticipate reaching current building capacity limits, we are not accepting reservations at this time.
Am I limited to how long I can be in the library?
Yes. Every patron is allowed to stay in the library for a maximum of 1 hour per day, to allow for limited computer use and/or sufficient time to locate materials and check them out.
Are computers available?
Limited computers will be available in most locations, with a 1 hour/1 session maximum use allowance per day.
Can I bring my own computer or laptop?
All locations will have limited or no seating available in order to keep library usage to a minimum. While you can bring in your own device, there will be no place to sit or plug in, and you will still be limited to the one-hour maximum time limit.
Are masks/face coverings still required?
Yes, masks or face coverings are still required for both library staff and patrons. If you forgot to bring your mask, staff can provide you with one. Please note that face shields cannot be used as a substitute for a cloth face mask or covering, as outlined in the California Department of Public Health Face Covering Guidance.
Are you accepting donations?
We are not accepting donations at this time and until further notice.
Can I use a study room or meeting room?
Study rooms and meeting/community rooms will be unavailable until further notice.
Will you be resuming storytime and other programming?
We will not be holding in-library storytimes or other programming until further notice. We are offering a wide variety of virtual programming, such as live literacy programs, storytimes, online book clubs and much more, as well as occasional outdoor events, so please check our website for updated information.
